Inez Kersemans - Internationaal Ondernemen (KdG Hogeschool)
Project:
'Butler Services'

"During my internship at ABC I’ve learned a lot of things. I’ve developed myself during these 17 weeks and learned how to be persuasive. They taught me how to improve my presentation skills and how to function in a team. My project was a study concerning a new service, namely the butler service. It was a fun project where I could test all my knowledge and learn a lot of new marketing skills. An internship at ABC is a gained accomplishment for your studies, but also for your further life. The ABC-team is friendly and you really become a part of the team. It was a great time that I will never forget. Thank you ABC!"

Yannick Gontier - KMO Management (KdG Hogeschool)
Project:
'Cost of Selling'

"During my internship at ABC I was offered the opportunity to work with motivated colleagues. There was alot of interaction with the different nationalities within the ABC team and the clients. I learned a lot from them, both about myself and about the tasks I was assigned. My project was calculating the profitability per client. This wasn’t an easy task but the team motivated me to come to a good result! My internship was a unique chance and I advice everyone to discover it for themselves."

Amal El Hairach - Management Assistant (Cevora)
Project:
Customer Service Support

"I started rather late with the search for a traineeship and I had almost given up hope. Thanks to my supervisor, I came into contact with the Antwerp Business Center. I experienced my internship at ABC as informative and pleasant. Why? You learn to deal with differences, multitasking, creativity,...

After the traineeship I was hired and in the meantime I started working for one of the ABC-clients."

Anna Guo Xue - Marketing (Vanhall Instituut Leeuwarden)
Project: AgriFood, CMS, China

"My traineeship at ABC was very inspiring because this period offered me the possibility to research my own interests and career options. The work experience I acquired provided me with a lot of practical knowledge and skills. These eight months at ABC have certainly influenced my perception of western business life."

Marie Meguerba - HR (EHSAL)
Project:
China Case Study

"During my traineeship at ABC I learned an incredible amount - not only theoretical skills but especially on a social level. As I stumbled my way through, we were always looking for the best solution to work well together.
Alongside the work much attention is given to the person herself. On the whole I have a very positive impression of my traineeship at ABC."

Daniël Vermeir - Toegepaste Informatica (KdG Hogeschool)
Project:
upgrading presentations

"My job consisted mainly of upgrading the level of the existing ABC PowerPoint presentations and creating a website (www.bobca.be). Besides, I was kept warm with a variety of side projects that made the traineeship all the more interesting .
What I mainly remember is the informal interaction between the ABC group and all the customers, and the freedom you get in the tasks and in time.

Dieter Segers - Facility Management (KaHo Sint-Niklaas)
Project:
AT Benchmarking

"As a trainee my task was to compare the expenses for facility management in the Antwerp Tower Companies. Not all companies were convinced of the positive outcome of this job, so I had to make an extra effort to persuade them. This, however, certainly challenged and developed my communicative skills in the course of events. Apart from this major task, I participated in other projects that came along the way. At ABC, I was offered plenty of opportunities to train and show my qualities. This way I encountered difficulties and faced problems that brought out the best of me. The training therefore was additional to what I learned at school. It was a perfect completion to my studies."

Dries Verstraelen - Handelswetenschappen (Lessius)
Project:
'China Business Cluster'

"I had the opportunity to take part in a unique project, called the "China Business Cluster". The principal object of this research project is to learn to understand potential customers from China. I myself was responsible for creating a database holding all the important people and businesses in the project. Along the way I also participated in other projects. So you can imagine that I have been through a very busy period, but at the same time a very instructive time for myself. Carrying out these tasks went very smoothly because the whole ABC team was there to support me all the time. So I would say to you: "Want to acquire experience in marketing management? At ABC you yourself can make the transition from "GOOD TO GREAT" (Jim Collins)"

Joyce Snelders - IMS (Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen)
Project:
CRM Best Practice Model

"Fantastic! That's how I would describe my traineeship at Antwerp Business Center in one word. Everyone with drive who likes to take the initiative and is flexible should not miss this experience. In the Antwerp Business Center your workload is very varied. Together with the good working atmosphere this ensures that the hours and days fly by quickly. I really feel that I counted for something in the business and that I have helped the business deliver its services. Every week we were also invited to the team meetings. This was a very instructive experience. You also get a lot of responsibility and freedom in what you do."

Tine Grootjans - Languages (Karel de Grote Hogeschool Office Management)
Project:
observation internship

"My training at ABC was a pleasant first introduction to the service aspect of a business centre. From the beginning I was welcomed with open arms and immediately felt that I belonged. Every morning I was curious to see what the day would bring. The hours and days flew by, mainly due to the good working atmosphere and the varied workload. If anyone asks what I learned at ABC, I can certainly answer that you have to rise to challenges!"

Kristof Troncquo - Handelsingenieur (EHSAL Brussel)
Project:
Analysis "An expansion of the business center franchise model"

"My traineeship project was an analysis of "An expansion of the business center model franchise." The focus was on legal aspects of franchising, the importance of a strong brand name (structure, protection, ...), an economic analysis of the cash flows between the franchisor and operator, benchmark study,..."

Kristof graduated with honours as a Master of Business Engineering at EHSAL Brussels in June 2006. Since August 2006 he has worked as a consultant at Accenture SA in the Financial Services Industry.

Leen Pepels - Master of Business Administration (Hogeschool Universiteit Brussel)
Project
: Quality 2010

"A traineeship at ABC was a great opportunity to put the theory of my studies into practice. I had the opportunity to contribute to the quality project "Embedding Total Quality Mangement in ABC's Culture." Personally, I found this project a unique and instructive experience. What I greatly appreciated in this organization was the family business culture, the cooperation of all team members and the involvement of the management team. Antwerp Business Center gives you the opportunity to to work on a challenging project in an autonomous and flexible way. In short, a great opportunity where your personal development and management skills are stimulated.
If you want to know what it's like to work with a great team, then I would definitely opt for ABC! "

Negra Mujadzic - Event & Project Management (KdG-Hogeschool)
Project: Project Management

"My training consists primarily of administrative work: mail distribution, answering of telephone, handling complaints, after-sales service, welcoming visitors, project management, database management, ...

My best experience at ABC is that I can manage the projects of other people, allowing me to freshen up and putting into practice my MS Project skills."

Rob J. Snepvangers - Small Business and Retail Management (Avans Hogeschool Breda)
Project:
NedWerkt & Logistics NL

"The traineeship at the Antwerp Business Center was a big eye-opener. Daring to do and daring to ask questions opened many doors during my research into networks. Interviews with top networkers, government and embassy staff and many others were the result of good support and the stimulation to do it yourself.
The possibility to look into specific areas through courses and / or meetings was greatly encouraged. This allowed me to follow courses in management and advanced powerpoint.

All these things are very stimulating for the rest of my personal development."

Robert-Jan van der Nap - Small Business and Retail Management (Avans Hogeschool Breda)
Project:
Sales Manual

"What began as an "observation" project soon turned into an interesting and active cooperation with the ABC team. My workload varied enormously. In this way I took part in the daily routine and worked on some marketing projects with other (foreign) interns. I took some courses (from advanced Excel to Mind Manager) which enlarged my knowledge considerably. The weekly team meeting was also part of my programme. The five-month traineeship taught me much that I can use not only in my future career but also in my personal life."

Sien Van den Eede - Teacher Dutch, Economics, History (Ursulinen Mechelen)
Project:
observation internship

"The school where I teach, thought that it would be interesting to send a teacher into business life for a while. My training at ABC was instructive, but it also persuaded me that I am better suited to teaching. ABC gave me the chance to learn a lot. For example, I received a training in making outlines in Word, which enables me to structure my texts more efficiently. The reworking of a pamphlet in English about business policies did much to increase my independence. I learned an enormous amount about how to work efficiently and effectively with the internet. Being able to learn how a business functions from a front-row seat is an experience I can recommend to everybody!"

Thérèse Parduyns - HR Assistent (VDAB)
Project:
observation training

"The training at ABC has had a regenerating influence on me:

  • An extended Intranet-system has a "How To" page explaining how to tackle every task.
  • In a modern customer-oriented approach you -as a trainee- learn how to give every customer tailored service.
  • The very open business atmosphere gives every trainee the chance to develop and optimise his or her skills.
In brief, a very instructive experience and a very agreeable atmosphere with open communication."

Thom Uitdewilligen - Small Business and Retail Management (Avans Hogeschool Breda)
Project: Community/Benchmark

"Antwerp Business Center opened many doors for me, I've seen many (starting) entrepreneurs in all kinds of branches. I've visited several companies within the Antwerp Tower for my Project. Theo Vaes also invited me for several seminaries throughout the entire country. During my training there were four students altogether. Thanks to the ABC team and the students I've learned a lot and had a lot of fun. To be brief: the perfect learning spot for each student."

Tina Keller - IMS (Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen)
Project:
CRM Best Practice Model

"During my training at ABC I learned a lot of new skills in the areas of communication and flexibility. I have also become a real juggler, because keeping several balls in the air at one time is an absolute must at ABC. Alongside the project you are assigned (the unifying thread of your training) you get more than enough opportunities to discover other aspects of business life. It doesn't just feel as if you are a member of the team, you really are one! I had a great time!"
